Swimming Lessons During the Cooler Months
When summer draws to a close and the weather starts to get cooler, some of our little nippers say goodbye to their instructors, to focus on other activities.
Parents don’t think twice about pulling their child out of swimming lessons in order to start a new activity, yet are often startled when they return and find their child hasn’t made any progress and perhaps has even regressed in their abilities.
Like most skills, swimming and water safety needs to be practiced regularly to keep in order for children to retain skills. Water safety is still an issue, even in the colder months ie. creeks, rivers, bath tubs and even the backyard covered pool.
At Nippers 2 Flippers we practice safety skills on a regular basis in conjunction with teaching children how to swim, this in turn provides swimmers with valuable life saving skills with a range of aquatic knowledge, including surf survival.
BUT WHAT ABOUT COLDS AND VIRUSES???
Contrary to popular belief your child will not be any more susceptible to colds and viruses swimming during winter than summer. Our indoor facility offers a pool with 33 degrees water, showers and hair dryers.
Year round swimming provides several benefits to children providing critical skills and opportunities for students to learn in a quick and efficient manner.
We hope to see all our Nippers 2 Flippers swimmers continue with us throughout winter.
